$120,000.00/yr - $190,000.00/yr

Our client, a global law firm, is seeking a patent agent with a strong technical background.

Billable hours- 1,600

Schedule- Hybrid (3/2) in Seattle or any California office. Fully remote work is also an option for those in the Pacific Time Zone.

Responsibilities:

• Draft patent applications and prosecute patent applications before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

• Analyze scientific or technical documents, including previously published patent documents, to assess an invention or issued patent.

• Draft detailed descriptions of inventions in precise legal terms (patent drafts), which form the basis for patents to be granted by patent offices in various parts of the world.

• Communicate and act as a liaison between inventors and the Patent & Trademark Office in connection with all aspects of the patent application process.

• Discuss scientific aspects of inventions with clients and inventors.

• Keep up to date with legal developments in the intellectual property field.

• Work closely with lawyers to support patent litigation, perform due diligence, and support other legal activities.

Qualifications:

· Must have a degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, physics, or an equivalent discipline.

·Relevant experience in one of the following technologies: machine learning, artificial intelligence, blockchain, telecommunications, wireless communications, signal processing, or a related field.

· Admitted to practice before the USPTO.
