Job summary

Finnegan is seeking Patent Agents with AI/Software experience to draft and prosecute patent applications in our Dallas, TX Office. A Bachelor’s degree in EE/CE/CS is required, with an advanced CS degree preferred and USPTO registration required.

Prior patent prosecution and AI/ML/Software experience are essential. Responsibilities include drafting patent applications, evaluating invention tech, writing opinions, and providing client counsel, with potential litigation support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in EE, CE, CS or related field.
• Advanced degree in CS preferred.
• USPTO registration required.
• Prior patent prosecution experience required.
• Experience in AI, Machine Learning, Large Language Models, or Software.

Responsibilities

• Draft and prosecute patent applications before the USPTO.
• Evaluate the underlying technology of inventions.
• Prepare opinion writing and client counseling.
• Provide technical assistance on projects and litigation support.
