ROLE SUMMARY:
The h.wood Group is seeking a hardworking and dedicated Pastry Prep Cook. The Pastry Prep Cookwill Assist in the preparation and production of pastries, desserts, and other baked goods following the restaurant’s standard recipes. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, has a positive attitude, and will thrive in a team environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Anticipate prep issues and inform Chef or Management on Duty
  • Assist with over organization of all pastry products in the kitchen
  • Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes and specifications.
  • Properly set up workstation with all ingredients and cooking equipment.
  • Monitor inventory and report shortages of ingredients or supplies.
  • Assist in the setup and breakdown of the pastry station during service hours.
  • Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Other duties as assigned by Head Chef.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Previous experience in a pastry or baking role preferred.
  • Culinary school training or equivalent experience is a plus.
  • Ability to follow detailed recipes and instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Positive attitude, team-oriented mindset, and strong communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Must have a valid Food Handlers Certification.
  • Must be able to stand during entire shift, often up to 8 hours with frequent bending, squatting, and lifting plates, boxes, and objects up to 30lbs.
  • Must have a strong understanding of restaurant health and safety regulations.
  • Basic understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
