The Chanler, located in Newport, RI, is seeking a Full-Time Savory Line Cook to join its esteemed kitchen team. You will work in an open-kitchen environment, delivering precise, high-quality dishes while upholding rigorous food-safety standards.

Ideal candidates have pastry experience and thrive in a fast-paced, detail-driven setting. You will report to the Sous Chefs and collaborate with a dedicated culinary staff to create guest-first dining experiences.

Qualifications

• 2 years of pastry experience, preferably in a luxury setting.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Commitment to food safety, sanitation, and HACCP standards.
• Effective communication with culinary leadership and team members.

Responsibilities

• Report to Sous Chefs and Executive Chef; support culinary team.
• Prepare and execute menu items per established recipes and standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, sanitary workstation and kitchen.
• Produce high-quality dishes with attention to flavor, presentation, timing, and portions.
• Demonstrate proficiency in knife skills, meat cookery, pasta, fish, stocks, sauces, and vegetable cookery.
• Complete daily mise en place and prep for the assigned station.
• Execute all dishes for the assigned station during service.
• Monitor product quality and report shortages to the Sous Chef or Chef de Cuisine.
• Ensure proper storage, labeling, FIFO, and sanitation of all food products.
• Follow Newport County Health Department regulations and HACCP procedures.
