Job Summary

The role of Pastry Cook is responsible for baking various desserts, pastries, breads, and other dishes in the kitchen of our establishments. The Pastry Cook is expected to create pastries, cookies, and other baked goods, develop new and unique recipes for the menu, and maintain inventory. This position requires creative baking and decorating talents, with a focus on quality and consistency.

Job Responsibilities
  • Follow all Food & Beverage policies, standards, and procedures
  • Meet culinary standards and responsibilities
  • Attend scheduled employee meetings and contribute suggestions
  • Develop new applications, ideas, and artistic contributions
  • Recognize superior quality in products, presentation, and flavor
  • Maintain proper food handling and storage standards
  • Manage purchasing, receiving, and food storage
  • Support portion control and waste management procedures
  • Handle and store food at correct temperatures
  • Prepare and cook various foods, including for special events
  • Check quality of raw and cooked foods
  • Create decorative food displays and determine presentation
  • Plan dessert and pastry menus to complement savory dishes
  • Keep the kitchen clean and sanitized
  • Stay updated on pastry arts and ingredients
  • Complete daily bakery prep and production, ensuring quality
  • Comply with all laws and regulations
  • Operate and maintain department equipment
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education and Experience
  • Ability to read labels and communicate basic needs
  • 3 years of experience in culinary, food & beverage, or related field, or a 2-year degree with 1 year experience
