Job summary

Sonesta International Hotels in New Orleans is seeking a Pastry Cook to prepare a variety of desserts, pastries and sweet goods for Restaurant R’evolution. You will join a team that delivers guest-focused, high-quality pastry offerings in a fast-paced hotel environment.

Responsibilities include performing prep as assigned by the Pastry Chef, setting up and maintaining stations, monitoring quality, and assisting others while ensuring sanitation and safety standards.

Qualifications

• At least two years of pastry cook experience.
• A Culinary Pastry degree or related hotel experience preferred.
• Basic to intermediate pastry cooking skills.
• Proven track record of guest or client experience.
• Strong communication skills for training and safety.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Valid ServSafe Food Handler Certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Perform all prep as assigned by Pastry Chef.
• Master assigned station and assist others as needed.
• Monitor food quality and presentation.
• Prepare dishes according to guidelines.
• Keep waste to a minimum and maintain station cleanliness.
• Complete special projects and deep cleaning as assigned.
• Return items to zoned locations and stock station before checkout.
• Build solid relationships with colleagues and deliver engaging service.
• Support operations in other areas when needed.

Job Description

• Perform all prep as assigned by Pastry Chef
• Be in proper uniform and clocked in at scheduled time
• Perform all prep as assigned by Pastry Chef
• Properly set up station according to guidelines
• Master assigned Station and assist others as needed
• Monitor food quality
• Prepare dishes according to guidelines
• Keep all waste to a minimum
• Maintain cooking technique and presentation standards
• Complete special projects and deep cleaning as assigned by Pastry Chef
• Return all items to their zoned locations
• Clean and Stock station before checking out with Pastry Chef
• Properly set up station according to guidelinesBuild solid relationship with your Colleagues
• Treat colleagues with respect and dignity
• Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned. The employee is expected to work in other areas of the hotel when needed to assist operations to perform job duties not necessarily contained in this job description.

Qualifications And Skills

• At least two years of previous pastry cook experience
• A Culinary Pastry degree or related hotel experience preferred
• Candidates should be able to perform all basic and intermediate pastry cooking skills
• Track record of delivering exceptional guest or client experience
• Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time for training and safety purposes, and when interacting with guests and associates.
• Strong communication skills
• Appropriate professional appearance and demeanor
• Valid ServSafe Food Handler Certificate required
