Job summary

The Modern, a Michelin-starred contemporary American restaurant at the Museum of Modern Art, seeks a Pastry Cook for daily pastry preparation across two dining experiences. Qualifications

• 1+ years experience as a Pastry Cook.
• Ability to walk or stand for long periods.
• English fluency required; additional languages optional.

Responsibilities

• Consistently support a culture of Enlightened Hospitality.
• Demonstrate baking and pastry techniques, production, and proper use of kitchen equipment.
• Ensure station mise en place is excellently prepped, seasoned, and prepared to the standards.
• Maintain knowledge of seasonal ingredients and retain new knowledge of ingredients used in our cuisine.
• Participate in service, restocking, and last-minute or special-order prep with calm urgency.
• Communicate effectively with all teams throughout the day and service.
• Maintain a neat work area to promote quality and minimize waste.
