Job summary

The Westin at Frenchman's Reef in St. Thomas is seeking a Pastry Cook to join our culinary team. You will contribute to the creation of exquisite desserts, pastries, and confections, working closely with ourPastry Chefs to learn techniques and push boundaries in presentation.

You will assist with preparation, baking, and presentation while maintaining high standards of quality and cleanliness in a fast-paced resort kitchen.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years pastry experience.
• College degree or certification in culinary or hospitality preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members.
• Read, write, and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, bake, and present a wide variety of pastries, cakes, and confections.
• Collaborate with Pastry Chefs to learn techniques and enhance dessert offerings.
• Assist in maintaining quality, portion control, and presentation for all pastry items.

With your energy and enthusiasm, you'll assist in the preparation, baking, and presentation of a wide variety of delectable pastries, cakes, and confections. Collaborating with our experienced Pastry Chefs, you'll learn new techniques, experiment with flavors, and elevate our dessert offerings to new heights.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years Pastry experience
• College degree or certification in culinary field/hospitality field preferred
• Food/Beverage Service Worker Permit, where applicable
• Ability to communicate effectively with the public and other Team Members
• Ability to work extended hours when business necessitates
• Read, write and speak and understand English
• Ability to understand financial goals and accomplish them
