Responsibilities
  • Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
  • Prepare food for service (e.g., chopping fruit, preparing sauces)
  • Have a general understanding of pastries and piping skills
  • Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
  • Follow instructions from the executive or sous chef
  • Clean up station and manage leftover food
  • Stock inventory appropriately
  • Ensure food is prepared simultaneously, with high quality and in a timely manner
  • Comply with nutrition, sanitation, safety standards
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
Skills
  • Prepare a variety of desserts and other food items using various kitchen equipment
  • Assume responsibility for product quality
  • Follow standard portion sizes, cooking methods, and kitchen policies
  • Maintain sufficient stock levels at line stations
  • Portion food according to standards
  • Keep workstation areas clean and sanitary
  • Prepare items via broiling, grilling, frying, sautéing, etc.
  • Follow proper plate presentation standards
  • Communicate effectively and work well in a team
