Job description

Pastry Cook

Reports to the Pastry Chef and Executive Baker. Working alongside 4-5 other team members, you will produce cookies, cakes, quiches, croissants, and other pastries and desserts for our bakery, six retail locations, and numerous wholesale customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately scale recipes.
• Mix, scoop, and bake cookies, muffins, and other baked goods.
• Prepare mousse, fillings, frosting, and other components.
• Assemble tarts, quiches, cakes, and assorted pastries and desserts.
• Shape croissants and Danishes.
• Bake all products as directed.
• Communicate needs with co‑workers and managers.

Qualifications

• Some pastry or baking experience or education.
• Works efficiently at all tasks.
• Maintains high quality and helps others achieve the same.
• Self‑directed but willing to learn and ask for help as needed.
• Good at receiving constructive feedback.
• Students in culinary school are encouraged to apply.

Compensation & Schedule

Pay: $16‑$18 an hour (full‑time).

Typical shift: 8‑hour day with start times varying between 4:00 am and 8:00 am.

Shift pattern: 5 days a week with 8‑hour shifts; at least one weekend day (Saturday or Sunday) required. Day shift holiday coverage.

Goal is 2 consecutive days off, which days can be negotiated.
