Finest Supermarket in Fredericksburg, VA is seeking a skilled Baker/Pastry Chef to craft cakes, pastries, and desserts from scratch in a fast-paced kitchen. You will develop recipes, manage baking inventory, and ensure top-quality presentation.

Ideal candidates have professional bakery experience, knowledge of baking techniques, and flexibility for early mornings, weekends, and holidays; ServSafe certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Baker, Pastry Chef, or similar role in a professional kitchen.
• Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and equipment.
• Ability to work early morning, weekend, and holiday shifts as needed.
• Food Handler's Certification or ServSafe certification preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and a passion for quality and consistency.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Culinary degree or formal pastry training is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and bake a variety of cakes, pastries, desserts, and baked goods from scratch
• Develop and execute recipes while maintaining consistent quality and presentation
• Monitor and manage inventory of baking ingredients and supplies
• Ensure proper food handling, sanitation, and kitchen safety standards are followed
• Decorate and plate pastries and desserts to meet visual and quality standards
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate production schedules and meet daily demands
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the baking station and equipment
