Job description

We're searching for a Production Pastry Chef with a minimum of three years of pastry production experience for a highly successful dessert company, a company that employs great people.

Qualifications:
  • Lead by example to ensure safe work practices are followed.
  • Provide consistent follow-up ensuring proper procedures are followed and documented.
  • Must monitor and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's).
  • Follow schedule and ensure work assignments are completed to quality and safety specifications.
  • Train employees, offer praise and accountability, address complaints and resolve problems, and evaluate performance.
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, safety standards and quality of products.
  • Work collaboratively with peer department leaders: Quality, Packaging, Maintenance, and Warehouse.
  • Ensure proper upkeep of equipment; address and resolve problems, initiate work orders for repairs.
Experience:
  • 3+ years of successful, hands-on, leadership experience within a large pastry production environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise and mentor both hourly production and salaried associates.
  • Good working knowledge of pastry production equipment such as mixers, ovens, and packaging equipment.
  • Working knowledge of process controls and industry standards.
  • Well versed in food safety, allergen, and other compliance requirements of a bakery production facility.
  • Positive and professional communication and customer service skills. Ensure capabilities to meet market needs and support profitable growth of the products produced by the facility.
  • Competent with computers – accustomed to working in an MS Office environment and competent in Excel.
