Job summary

Menzies Aviation in the United States is seeking a Customer Service Agent to check in passengers at the ticket counter and gates, verify documents, assign seats, provide gate information, check baggage, and assist passengers with their issues in the airport. You must adhere to uniform guidelines and codes of conduct.

This role requires a flexible schedule, strong English communication, basic computer skills, and the ability to stand for long periods.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must have a current valid US driver’s license.
• Computer skills are required to operate computer-based systems.
• Ability to read, write and speak English with excellent communication.
• Ability to stand for long periods in check-in areas.
• Must pass FBI background check and obtain US Customs seal.

Responsibilities

• Assist passengers with check-ins, verification, gate information, baggage claims and other issues.
• Host self-service kiosks and verify passenger documents prior to boarding.
• Interpret identification labels and baggage routing tags.
• Keep check-in, lobby, gate and baggage areas organized and functional.
• Make announcements and assign seats as needed in the gate area.

Role Purpose

The Customer Service Agent will be responsible for checking in passengers for flights at the ticket counter and gates; as well as verifying passenger documentation, assigning seats, providing gate information, checking baggage, and assisting passengers with their issues in the airport. This individual must adhere to Menzies Aviation uniform guidelines and codes of conduct.

What you will be doing

• Assist passengers with check-ins, verification, gate information, baggage claims and any other passenger issues in the airport, be enthusiastic and keep a positive attitude while offering assistance.
• Host self-service kiosks and verify passengers’ documents prior to boarding aircraft.
• Interpret identification labels along with baggage and cargo routing tags.
• Ensure that all work areas are organized and functional (check-in, lobby, gate, baggage).
• Other responsibilities in the gate area include making announcements, checking baggage, and assigning seats.
