PASS Tutors at American University provide one-on-one tutoring to AU students through the PASS program, with sessions typically 2–6 hours per week on campus. Tutors are AU students, many eligible for Federal Work Study, and receive opportunities for professional development.
Responsibilities include tutoring prep, documenting sessions, and attending trainings, plus class visits to promote the program across campus. Positions renew each semester based on student status.

Most student positions at American University are eligible to use Federal Work Study (FWS) awards, with a few exceptions. FWS funds cannot be applied to janitorial, construction, partisan or sectarian positions.
