Job summary

The Michaels Companies is seeking an energetic team member to plan and execute in-store events, including children’s birthday parties and craft classes, while delivering friendly customer service. You will assist shoppers, manage checkout processes, and promote rewards programs in a fast-paced retail environment.

Responsibilities include coordinating events, packing supplies, and ensuring safety and cleanliness, with opportunities to upsell add-ons and stay aligned with store goals.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate events at the Michaels store, including kids’ birthday parties and craft classes.
• Engage with customers of all ages to provide friendly service and help shoppers find what they need.
• Assist with checkout and rewards enrollment and communicate store promotions and VOC surveys.
• Set up and break down events, maintain cleanliness, and adhere to SOPs and safety standards.
• Coordinate with store team for event planning and add-ons such as party extras.

Store - S. CHARLESTON, WVPlan, coordinate, and facilitate events (including kids birthday parties) within a Michaels store to provide a stress-free, fun, and engaging experience for guests. Deliver friendly customer service by helping customers shop at our store and find what they’re looking for. Ensure all customers receive a fast and friendly checkout experience. Complete operational tasks including truck unload, merchandise duties, and maintaining store recovery standards as needed to deliver our Brand Promises.**Event Coordination*** Plan and coordinate multiple events at once including children’s birthday parties and other craft classes or events.* Engage with clients of all ages, from 4 to 94+, by creating an environment of fun and creativity.* Demonstrate and instruct party participants in the completion of craft projects, perform face painting and other activities.* Facilitate and implement party add-ons such as goody bags, balloons, etc. to company standards.* Communicate events with clients and store team members.* Complete administrative tasks such as answering emails, making phone calls, and completing paperwork as needed.* Adjust plans and events based on client’s feedback and needs.* Create backup or emergency plans to be executed as needed.* Ensure client satisfaction for scheduled events.* Uphold the company’s cleanliness and safety standards.
