Position Summary

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Transporter.

Job Responsibilities
  • Login to Teletracking
  • Receive assignments and job requirements
  • Pick up patient chart and inform nursing of transport
  • Complete Transport Communication Sheet
  • Utilize AIDET: introduce self to patient and explain method of transport and destination
  • Be knowledgeable and demonstrate safety precautions involving patient transport
  • Upon arrival to destination, report patients’ arrival, deliver patient chart to appropriate personnel and obtain required signatures
  • Perform cleaning procedure in vacated patient area including bed sanitizing, ensuring linen is clean, neat and in excellent condition
  • Visually inspect area upon completion of cleaning to ensure appropriate levels of cleaning and neatness achieved
  • Be familiar with possible hazards associated with using oxygen
  • Ensure that oxygen label is correctly displayed and designated medical O2
  • Ensure proper connection prior to initiating the patient transport
  • Be familiar with proper storage of oxygen tanks
  • Use proper O2 holders when transporting a patient
  • Utilize AIDET with each patient, visitor and staff encounter
  • Promote and project the hospital's service standards in daily job tasks
  • Promote a positive patient experience during all patient encounters
  • Demonstrate competencies related to the 7‑step room cleaning procedure
  • Provide consistent work performance and meet productivity standards
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalency required
  • Ability to read and write English to verify patient assignments and read and interpret labels when preparing cleaning solutions
  • Preferred: one year of job experience learning sanitation principles and techniques, hospital layout and departmental policies and procedures
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to be courteous to patients, visitors and staff during transporting and housekeeping assignments
  • Effective communication with all levels of the organization

Salary Range
