Alma del Mar Charter School in New Bedford, MA is seeking a Receptionist to be the friendly face at the front desk. You will warmly welcome families, manage sign-in logs for adults and students, and handle calls and messages for staff.

You will schedule meetings, support events, and adapt to a fast-paced environment with a calm, professional demeanor. The role is temporary, running from November 1 through May 20, and offers hourly pay between $20 and $24, depending on experience.

The Receptionist Role

The Receptionist is an integral part of our crew because they are often the first person who our families interact with when they walk through our doors. Our receptionist is the friendly face of the school. The receptionist works closely with the Office Manager and the Dean of Operations. Duties include but are not limited to:

• Warmly welcome families into the school
• Manage front desk adult sign in log
• Manage front desk scholar sign in log, including tardies and dismissals
• Answer phone calls and take messages for staff
• Schedules meetings between families and staff including at high volume times like family conferences and enrollment meetings.
• Supports with set up and break down of school events like family conferences, professional development, and graduation ceremonies
• Adapt to tackle other day to day challenges in a fast paced environment
• Maintain professional customer service during high volume and sometimes stressful situations

Compensation: This position is paid hourly and eligible for overtime. Starting hourly rate ranges from $20 - $24 per hour, based on prior experience.
