Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. in Indianapolis, IN is hiring a Parts Technician in Maintenance to ensure technicians have the right parts and manage stock. This full-time role may involve outdoor work, cycle counts, and fast-paced inventory management to support vehicle and trailer maintenance.

The position requires lifting up to 50 lbs, working across shifts including nights and weekends, and adherence to safety policies; a $1,500 sign-on bonus is available for a limited time.

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent and up to a 12 to 18 months of direct experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Responsibilities

• Fulfill parts requests by technicians and ensure parts are properly charged to the unit under repair
• Observe all Company safety requirements
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Mentor and train other shop personnel
• Ensure compliance of safety policies
• Maintain a clean, well-ordered work environment free of trash and hazards
• Retain and ship parts per Warranty Retention and Core Management procedures
• Provide administrative support by copying and typing correspondence, maintaining records and filing
• Maintain JBHT information systems related to parts receipts, shipments, inventories, and usage
• Ensure each unit has required inventory of equipment to determine usability and replacement of non-functional equipment
• Conduct cycle counts and periodic inventories
• Receive inbound shipments of parts and fuel, stock inbound parts, update information systems

Job Summary:

Under routine supervision, this position is responsible for ensuring parts are available to truck and trailer technicians for repairs. Manage inventory stock levels, perform audits, and submit orders to maintain an adequate supply of parts. Maintain information systems and process core and warranty returns according to Company requirements. This position has the possibility to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends in addition to overtime; it requires full-time attendance.

Job Description:

$1,500 sign on bonus available for limited time.

Key Responsibilities :

Compensation:

Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of the Company's bonus and incentive plans, as applicable and in effect from time to time.
