Power Equipment Company seeks a Parts Specialist in Grand Junction, CO to handle parts orders, assist customers, and locate the right components across multiple catalogs. The role emphasizes strong computer skills, inventory control, and a proactive customer-service approach.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; Associate or Bachelor degree preferred.
• Proficient with computers including Windows, MS Office, and general laptop/desktop use.
• Strong knowledge of inventory control software and DMS type systems.
• Forklift trained & certified.

Responsibilities

• Answer calls and process parts orders and customer service requests.
• Locate parts across various catalogs and vendor online resources.
• Assist internal customers with parts problems and upsell related items as needed.
• Manage backordered parts and coordinate shipping logistics.
• Collaborate with outside Product Support Reps to fulfill orders.
• Handle customer complaints professionally and provide service department support.
• Contribute to dealer or manufacturer training and knowledge growth.
• Support safety policies and environmental practices.

Job purpose

This job requires strong computer and customer service skills in conjunction with a solid knowledge in construction equipment and aggregate parts. This position serves with both internal and external customers as must as have the ability to keep a calm during stressful high-call volume and other demanding situations.

Duties and responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls and attending to parts orders, customer service needs, and/or other opportunities. Including locating the desired parts in a wide variety of parts books, both on-line with vendors and in-house resource books.
• Skillfully helps internal customers solve parts problems; identifies proper parts numbers; completes order forms and recommends and sells related items as a service and as requested by customers.
• Help with parts or product support needs they may have.
• Manages backordered parts and arranges the desired shipping logistics.
• Work closely with outside Product Support Representatives and assist them in parts orders for customers.
• Professionally handles customer complaints in a courteous manner.
• Assists with any parts needs the service department may have and provide support.
• Has a can-do attitude and contributes to the success of the Power Equipment Company team.
• Strives to continually increase product knowledge and participates in dealer or manufacturer training events.
• Actively supports safety policy, goals, and objectives plus uses sound environmental practices.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the service manager.
• 24 Hour support when necessary.

Qualifications

• High school diploma; Associates or Bachelor Degree Preferred
• To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient utilizing computers including Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Internet Explorer and general laptop or desktop computer use.
• Has strong knowledge of inventory control software and DMS type systems.
• Forklift Trained & Certified
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 60 pounds and work inside and outdoors in various climate and temperatures.

Working conditions

The employee will generally be working in an office environment. The employee may be required to wear appropriate PPE equipment. The employee could occasionally be exposed to extreme temperatures, fumes, or airborne particles. The noise level in the workplace is moderate.
