Job summary

AutoNation in Carlsbad, CA is seeking a Retail Parts Shipping and Receiving Associate to verify shipments, maintain inventory accuracy, and prepare items for shipment. You will count, weigh, and inspect merchandise against invoices and orders.

This on-site role requires a high school diploma, reading comprehension, one year in a parts department, and a valid driver's license. You’ll operate a forklift or pallet jack and use the parts department computer system to process deliveries and returns.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
• One year of experience in a retail or wholesale parts department.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Ability to interpret vendor catalogs.
• Ability to use parts department computer system.
• Good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Count, weigh or measure items on incoming and outgoing shipments.
• Verify information against invoices, orders and other records.
• Determine method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
• Keep all bins, aisles and storage areas clean and clearly labeled.
• Maintain receiving and shipping records and related records.
• Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages and coordinate with shipper.
• Ensure outgoing shipments meet specifications.
• Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
• Operate heavy machinery (i.e. forklift, pallet jack).
