Job summary

Midwest Applied Solutions in Hillside, NJ is seeking a Parts Sales professional to process orders and respond to customer inquiries for the Parts Department. You will handle quotes, order entry, and provide technical product support to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.

The role requires 3-5 years of parts counter sales or equivalent experience, an Associate’s degree preferred, and strong computer skills with HVAC parts background valued.

Responsibilities

  • Sell HVAC parts, equipment, and supplies through phone and counter sales, and conduct occasional customer sales calls.
  • Research customer needs, identify parts, prepare quotes and proposals, and convert quotes to orders using Great Plains software.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for customers, answering and directing calls professionally, gathering accurate information for parts and bid requests, and providing technical product support.
  • Manage customer orders from quote through delivery, including order entry, expediting, invoicing, and follow-up to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Promote product offerings, pricing programs, and current promotions to customers.
  • Provide high-level customer service by responding to inquiries, resolving complaints, and determining appropriate solutions in accordance with company policies.
  • Communicate with vendors to source, order, outsource, and expedite parts as needed.
  • Coordinate parts returns, warranty claims, and customer parts stocking programs.
  • Assist with inventory management, including stocking levels, shipment receiving, inventory reconciliation, and database updates.
  • Load, unload, pack, ship, and deliver parts, supplies, and equipment as required, including receiving UPS/FedEx and other carrier deliveries.
  • Maintain accurate documentation including purchase orders, warranties, invoices, and related paperwork to ensure timely customer response and compliance with internal procedures.
  • Participate in customer-sponsored events and make occasional small parts deliveries to customer locations or job sites.
  • Learn and apply HVAC parts business processes while demonstrating strong organizational skills, customer focus, and flexibility to work overtime or weekends as business needs require.

The Opportunity

Along with our core business we have a Service and Warranty division and a Parts Division. We are currently seeking a Parts Sales position responsible for processing customer orders and responding to customer’s inquiries, questions or complaints regarding the Parts Department services and seeks remedies to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.

The Required Profile
  • 3-5 years of parts counter sales or equivalent sales experience

Environmental Requirements

Will be required to work in an office environment and possibly, occasionally in the field.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to operate computer keyboard and telephone, reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Compensation: This position offers a salary range of $60,000–$80,000 annually, with final compensation determined based on relevant experience and qualifications.
