Job summary

Milford A Winsupply Company is seeking a driver to operate company light duty trucks and trailers, delivering materials to customer yards and jobsites. You will prepare and load materials, secure loads, and maintain DOT paperwork while coordinating with team members to ensure safe, on-time deliveries.

The role requires DOT and safety compliance, ability to pass driving tests, and occasional extended travel with overnight stays.

JOB SUMMARY:

Operates company owned light duty trucks and trailers to transport materials inbound, outbound and between inventory holding locations as well Milford locations. Delivers materials to customer yards and jobsites. Prepares materials for transport and loads relevant equipment. Secures materials for movement during the transport of loads. Works together with other team members to ensure all materials are delivered safely and on schedule.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Ensures transportation equipment is properly maintained, secured, and delivered safely and timely.
2. Ability to safely inspect transportation equipment in accordance with Milford's policy to ensure safe operation and schedules maintenance as required: trucks, trailers and load securing equipment.
3. Ability to operate a light duty truck/trailer combination.
4. Follows safe loading practices and secures cargo for transport.
5. Prepares and completes necessary delivery paperwork as required.
6. Ability to communicate with all team members.
7. Working knowledge of shipping related terms.
8. Schedules preventative maintenance and repairs to ensure safe operations.
9. Maintains daily/weekly logs of activities including relevant DOT paperwork.
10. Other related duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

7. Can safely operate light duty truck/trailer combinations: truck, bumper pull, gooseneck, specialty trailer.
8. Ability to operate material handling equipment and pass operator qualification such as pallet jack, forklift, telehandler within 30 days.
9. Ability to provide H2S and PEC certification and/or pass Milford offered course upon onboarding.
10. Must meet DOT driver program requirements as defined by state and federal requirements.
11. Must be able to pass a competency-based driving test and follow federal laws while driving.
12. Constant travel with occasional overnight stays as required by business needs.
13. Ability to use GPS/Navigation applications to determine the safest route.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

1. Sales Counter/Office
2. Customer project sites, enclosed warehouse, and storage yard.
3. Occasional high noise level, dust, fumes such as fuel or exhaust may be encountered.
4. Sometimes exposed inclement weather while working outside or driving vehicle.
5. Occasionally exposed to bright or dim lighting conditions while driving.
6. Vehicle operation up to 8 plus hours

SCHEDULE: Available during normal operating hours with the ability to work extended hours when required by Branch Manager and weekends when required by customers. On Call duties required.

Requirements

DRUG TESTING REQUIRMENTS: This position is subject to PHMSA drug testing in accordance with Milford policies.

DRIVING REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a valid driver's license and must pass MVR requirements in accordance with Milford policies.

BACKGROUND CHECK REQUIREMENTS: This position is subject to a third-party position specific background check in accordance with Milford policies and procedures

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATION:

1. 1 Year experience in transportation or related role, required.
2. Obtain client specific safety training provided by Milford within 2 months.
3. Ability to provide H2S and PEC Certification and/or pass Milford offered course upon onboarding.
4. Ability to provide Forklift Certification and/or pass Milford offered course upon onboarding.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Constant travel with occasional overnight stays as required by business needs.
2. Ability to stand, sit, stoop, reach with arms, kneel and push/pull/lift 50 pounds.
3. Ability to walk long distances in rough terrain.
4. Stooping, crouching, kneeling, crawling, climbing ramps or stairs.
5. Ability to wear PPE.
6. Reaching overhead, at or below shoulder level.
