Job description

Position Summary

The HeliTeam is looking for a standout aviation professional to own two critical functions in one role: parts control and quality assurance. This is not a typical inspector position. It is a one-of-a-kind seat built for someone who can run a disciplined parts and tooling program while holding our aircraft, records, and maintenance work to the highest standard.

The work is demanding. You will be the person the Director of Maintenance counts on to keep the operation compliant, organized, and audit-ready, at our Orlando base and in the field during our busy May through August season. It calls for sharp attention to detail, sound judgment, and the confidence to speak up when something is not right.

It is also deeply rewarding. Your work directly protects the safety of our crews and the airworthiness of every aircraft we operate. We are hiring a top-tier individual for this seat, and we expect that person to take on significantly more responsibility in the coming years.

Key Responsibilities
Parts and Tooling Control
  • Manage the tool control system in coordination with shop leads.
  • Track the calibration and recertification of gauges, meters, and other precision instruments.
  • Maintain parts tracking systems and monitor shelf-life and expiration dates.
Quality Assurance and Inspection
  • Inspect aircraft, components, and maintenance records for compliance with FAA regulations and company standards.
  • Perform routine and non-routine audits to assess the quality of maintenance and repair work.
  • Review and verify maintenance documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Monitor adherence to safety procedures and report any non-compliance or safety concerns.
Collaboration and Continuous Improvement
  • Work with maintenance teams to resolve discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain current knowledge of FAA regulations, industry best practices, and company policies.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives in aircraft maintenance and quality control.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certificate.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience working with helicopters or corporate aviation.
  • Previous auditing or compliance experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of FAA regulations, aircraft inspection, and aviation quality assurance.
  • Ability to travel extensively from May through August.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with AS9100, ISO 9001, or a similar quality system.
Physical Requirements
  • Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb for extended periods.
  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Work comfortably in confined spaces, on ladders, and on elevated platforms.
  • Work in a range of conditions, including hot, cold, humid, and noisy environments.
  • Good manual dexterity, vision, and hearing for detailed inspections and troubleshooting.
Benefits
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance, 80% company-paid for you and your family
  • 401(k) with a 4% company match
  • Two weeks of paid time off
Why This Role
  • Two functions, one owner. You run both parts control and quality assurance, which gives you a full view of how the maintenance operation works.
  • Direct line to leadership. You report to the Director of Maintenance, and your findings shape how the department operates.
  • Work that varies. Shop-based work in Orlando most of the year, then a fast-paced field season from May through August.
  • A path forward. This seat is built for someone poised for major growth, with more responsibility ahead for the person who proves they can handle it.
