Job summary

The HeliTeam in Orlando, FL is seeking a Helicopter Mechanic with extensive UH-1H and Bell 206 experience to perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs in a safety-focused, high-performance setting. You will interpret OEM data, coordinate with flight crews, and maintain meticulous maintenance records.

This role requires FAA A&P certification, field deployment experience, and proficiency with maintenance tracking software. Expect travel May–August and a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• FAA A&P certification is required.
• Extensive hands-on UH-1H and/or Bell 206 experience required.
• Strong knowledge of FAA Part 91/133/135/137 maintenance standards and documentation.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical discrepancies.
• Prior field maintenance or deployment experience is a plus.
• Proficiency with maintenance tracking software and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs on UH-1H/206 airframes per FAA and internal standards.
• Troubleshoot airframe, powerplant, and rotor systems with high accuracy.
• Interpret OEM data, manuals, drawings, and schematics.
• Collaborate with flight crews to maintain fleet readiness.
• Maintain records of maintenance, discrepancies, actions, and parts used.
• Participate in field operations and deployments to remote locations (May–Aug).
• Uphold a safety-first culture across maintenance operations.
• Support QA and continuous improvement in maintenance practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform detailed inspections, maintenance, and repairs on UH-1H/206 airframes, ensuring full compliance with FAA regulations and internal standards.

• Troubleshoot airframe, powerplant, and rotor systems with a high level of expertise and accuracy.

• Interpret and apply OEM technical data, maintenance manuals, drawings, and schematics.

• Collaborate closely with flight crews and maintenance personnel to maintain fleet readiness and minimize aircraft downtime.

• Maintain meticulous records of maintenance activities, discrepancies, corrective actions, and parts used.

• Participate in field operations and deploy to remote locations during high-activity periods (especially May–August).

• Uphold and promote a safety-first culture across all maintenance operations.

• Support ongoing quality assurance programs and continuous improvement initiatives in aircraft maintenance practices.

Qualifications & Experience

• FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certification – Required

• Extensive hands-on experience with UH-1H and/or Bell 206 platforms – Required

• Strong knowledge of FAA Part 91, 133, 135, and 137 maintenance standards and documentation practices.

• Ability to diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical discrepancies.

• Prior field maintenance or deployment experience is a plus.

• Proficiency with maintenance tracking software and technical manuals.

Education

• High school diploma or GED required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and climb for extended periods.

• Must be able to lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs.

• Comfortable working in physically demanding environments — including tight spaces, elevated platforms, and varied weather conditions.

• Strong visual, auditory, and manual skills essential for intricate inspections and repair tasks.

Status: Full-Time, 14 days on / 14 days off rotation
Compensation: $65,000 – $85,000 DOE
