Job summary

Midwest Peterbilt Group is seeking a Parts Outside Sales professional in Sioux City, IA to develop and grow customer relationships within an assigned territory. You will drive parts sales through on-site visits, proactive engagement, and timely follow-up on quotes and orders.

The role requires strong customer service, relationship-building skills, and the ability to manage a structured territory plan. Frequent travel in the field is expected, with a focus on leading to profitability and market

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills with spreadsheets, database, e-mail, and CRM software.
  • Prior sales experience preferred.
  • Two years of experience in the heavy-duty truck or related parts industry preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with existing customers through regular in-person visits.
  • Prospect and secure new business within assigned territory.
  • Prepare and secure new business within assigned territory.
  • Follow up on quotes and opportunities to secure orders and grow sales.
  • Promote new products, programs, and services to customers.
  • Generate and process customer orders accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure order accuracy and timely delivery.
  • Assist in pulling parts or coordinating fulfillment when necessary.
  • Process returns, credits, and warranty-related items in accordance with Company procedures.
  • Ensure proper documentation and follow-up on all transactions.
  • Maintain a structured call schedule to maximize coverage and efficiency within assigned territory.
  • Submit activity reports, call logs, and sales updates as required by management.
  • Develop and maintain a territory sales plan and forecast.
  • Monitor customer buying patterns and identify growth opportunities.
  • Track and communicate competitive activity and market conditions.
  • Resolve customer concerns and issues promptly to maintain satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Deliver parts to customers as needed and support delivery logistics.
  • Collect payments on COD accounts and ensure proper handling of funds.
  • Utilize CRM and mobile tools to manage customer interactions and sales activities.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and represent the Company positively in all interactions.

This role focuses on driving parts sales through proactive customer engagement, regular on-site visits, and consistent follow-up on quotes, orders, and service needs. The Parts Outside Sales employees serve as a key link between customers and the Parts Department, ensuring timely product availability, competitive solutions, and a high level of customer satisfaction. This position is expected to expand market share by identifying new business opportunities, strengthening existing accounts, and supporting overall profitability of the Parts Department.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
Sales and Customer Development

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education
