Job summary

Great Plains Manufacturing in Salina, KS, is seeking a Parts Operations Manager to oversee both Great Plains and Land Pride parts operations in Salina and Enterprise. You will manage inbound and outbound parts movements, inventory accuracy, and staff.

The role emphasizes KPI definition, process improvements based on lean principles, and close collaboration with Sales and other departments to meet deadlines while adhering to OSHA safety standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in warehouse management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to develop material handling processes (kitting, milk runs, etc.) based upon lean principles.
• Basic computer skills including Word Processing, Internet, Email, Spreadsheets, Software Concepts, Hardware, Presentations, Graphics, etc.

Responsibilities

• Manage incoming and outgoing movement of raw materials and finished products, maintains inventory accuracy and records.
• Define performance metrics and KPIs with weekly reporting to monitor progress.
• Maintain parts management in terms of Country of Origin, labelling, and inventory accuracy.
• Monitor material handling equipment for defects and coordinate repairs.
• Manage movement of shipments from receiving platform to storage and work areas.
• Determine staff hours, number of personnel, and parts required for service.
• Recommend measures to improve spare parts handling and delivery methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
• Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
• Report changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew to department manager.
• Store and retrieve material handling data using computer.
• Interface with other departments to ensure deadlines are met.
• Attach identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers
• Count, weigh, and record number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheet or computer while maintaining accurate inventory quantities.
• Work closely with the GPM Parts Sales teams to ensure all parts are shipped in a timely manager
• Follow all Great Plains policies and OSHA safety regulations and wears prescribed safety and protective equipment.
• Other duties may be assigned that require other qualifications, physical demands, and/or work environment.
