Job summary

Great Plains Manufacturing is seeking a Parts Operations Manager to oversee the Salina and Enterprise, Kansas Parts operations. You will manage material movement, inventory accuracy, and processes across Great Plains and Land Pride with the 3rd Function Valve team.

The role requires leadership experience in warehouse operations, lean process development, and proficiency in Excel and AS400. Day travel between sites is required, with a Monday–Friday schedule in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field.
• 5+ years' demonstrated leadership experience in a management role.
• 5+ years' experience in warehouse management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage incoming and outgoing movement of materials, maintain inventory accuracy and space utilization, and ensure timely production.
• Define KPIs with weekly reporting to monitor progress.
• Oversee parts management by country of origin, labeling, and inventory accuracy.
• Streamline operations between Great Plains Parts and Land Pride Departments and the 3rd Function Valve team.
• Direct staff hours and staffing levels for multiple departments and teams.
• Ensure safety and OSHA compliance and proper use of equipment.

Parts Operations Manager

Great Plains Manufacturing is seeking a Parts Operations Manager to oversee the Great Plains and Land Pride Parts operations in Salina and Enterprise, Kansas. This role also has oversight of the 3rd Function Valve Team in Salina.

This position will manage incoming and outgoing shipments and the activities of workers engaged in lifting, transporting, storing, and loading materials and products.

Typical schedule for this role is Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Day- travel between the sites is required.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage incoming and outgoing movement of raw materials and finished products, maintains inventory accuracy, reports of warehousing space available, and other records to meet material handling requirements to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.
• Define performance metrics and KPIs with weekly reporting to monitor progress.
• Maintain parts management in terms of Country of Origin, labelling, and inventory accuracy.
• Create processes to streamline operations and ordering procedures between the Land Pride and Great Plains Parts Departments
• Monitor material handling equipment for defects and notify maintenance personnel or contact outside service facility for repair.
• Manage movement of shipments from receiving platform to storage and work areas.
• Determine staff hours, number of personnel, and parts required for service for Great Plains and Land Pride Parts departments as well as the 3 rd Function Valve team.
• Recommend measures to improve spare parts handling and delivery methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
• Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.

• Store and retrieve material handling data using computer.
• Interface with other departments to ensure deadlines are met.
• Attach identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers
• Count, weigh, and record number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheet or computer while maintaining accurate inventory quantities.
• Work closely with the GPM Parts Sales teams to ensure all parts are shipped in a timely manager
• Follow all Great Plains policies and OSHA safety regulations and wear prescribed safety and protective equipment.
• Other duties may be assigned that require other qualifications, physical demands, and/or work environment.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field; 5+ years' demonstrated leadership experience in a management role; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 5+ years' experience in warehouse management, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to develop material handling processes (kitting, milk runs, etc.) based upon lean principles
• High level of proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
• Working knowledge of AS400 software
