Job summary

Audi of West on Houston, a Sonic Automotive family dealership, seeks a Parts Manager to optimize profitability of the parts inventory and lead a team. Responsibilities include purchasing, inventory control, pricing, merchandising, and staff development in a high-volume setting.

Ideal candidates will have supervisory experience in an automotive parts department, strong communication and managerial skills, and the ability to manage budgets and inventory across service, body shop, and DIY channels.

Qualifications

• Must be authorized to work in the USA.
• Must pass pre-employment testing: background checks, MVR, drug test, credit report, valid driver license.
• Supervisory experience in an automotive parts department.
• Strong communication and managerial capabilities.
• Sales experience beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Forecasts goals and objectives for the department and aims to meet them.
• Hires, trains, motivates, counsels, and monitors parts department staff; prepares annual budget.
• Maintains balanced inventory for service, body shop, wholesale, and DIY customers.
• Sets pricing to generate gross profit while maintaining loyalty.
• Maintains optimal parts inventory levels for turnover.
• Ensures inventory turns and minimizes obsolescence.
• Tagging of parts to ensure full credit from the factory.
• Directs outside parts and counter sales efforts, including telemarketing.
• Develops sales promotions and manufacturer co-op advertising.
• Ensures compliance with safety policies and regulations.
