Job summary

Mercedes-Benz of Palo Alto, part of Swickard Auto Group, seeks an experienced Parts Manager to lead a high-volume, luxury-brand parts operation in Silicon Valley. You will own inventory, gross profit, fill rates and obsolescence, manage a skilled team, and partner with service management to keep technicians productive while maintaining exacting standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of parts manager experience in a franchised dealership.
• Strong command of parts department financials including gross profit and inventory metrics.
• Familiarity with OEM parts systems and maintenance of inventory accuracy.
• Leadership experience developing and guiding a parts team.
• Detail-oriented with process discipline and strong communication with service teams.
• Experience with DMS platforms such as Reynolds & Reynolds or CDK.
• Valid driver's license with clean record.

Responsibilities

• Lead all parts department operations including inventory, staffing, vendor relations, and daily workflow.
• Drive profitability by owning gross profit, fill rates, inventory turn, and obsolescence.
• Develop and hold accountable a parts team for accuracy and execution.
• Monitor KPIs and take corrective action when targets drift.
• Manage Mercedes-Benz OEM parts programs, warranty processes and returns.
• Build strong vendor and OEM relationships for availability and program participation.
• Coordinate with service management to align parts supply with demand.
• Maintain inventory accuracy through receiving, cycle counts, and bin organization.

What You'll Do

• Lead all parts department operations -- managing inventory, staffing, vendor relationships, and daily workflow to support a high-performing service department
• Drive parts department profitability -- owning gross profit, fill rates, inventory turn, and obsolescence control
• Develop and hold accountable a parts team -- building capability, accuracy, and a culture of consistent execution at the counter and in the warehouse
• Monitor key performance metrics and implement corrective action proactively when results drift from target
• Manage Mercedes-Benz OEM parts programs, warranty parts processes, and manufacturer return procedures with full compliance
• Build and maintain strong vendor and OEM relationships -- ensuring parts availability and program participation are optimized
• Partner closely with service management to align parts supply with service demand -- minimizing delays and keeping technicians productive
• Maintain inventory accuracy through disciplined receiving, cycle counts, and bin organization standards

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of parts manager experience in a franchised dealership -- Mercedes-Benz or luxury brand experience strongly preferred
• Strong command of parts department financials -- fill rate, gross profit, inventory turn, and obsolescence management
• Deep familiarity with OEM parts systems -- Mercedes-Benz Star Parts or equivalent experience a significant advantage
• Proven ability to develop and lead a parts team
• Process-oriented with strong attention to detail and inventory accuracy
• Comfortable with DMS platforms -- Reynolds & Reynolds or CDK experience preferred
• Clear communicator who works effectively with service managers, advisors, and technicians
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
