Typical Work Day May Include
- Supporting maintenance activities by managing an organized storeroom and verifying quantity and quality of equipment, tools, and parts.
- Maintaining accurate inventory of tools and parts by following procedures, entering transactions in the system for new inventory and issuances and returns to departments.
- Issuing hand tools, machine tools, dies, materials, equipment and other items.
- Maintaining general food safe and plant safe housekeeping of parts room and maintenance shop. Performing clerical tasks including receiving service purchasing orders in the system for payment and receive kit work orders for mechanics.
- Receiving, unpacking, and storing incoming tools and equipment, following general processes with limited guidance.
- Collaborating with purchasing, maintenance supervisors and maintenance planner to review current stock and obsolete stock to ensure a relevant and useful shelf stock.
- Cycle counting the parts room and reviewing necessary adjustments with maintenance planner for approval.
- Handling moderately complex clerical, administrative, technical or customer support issues under supervision, escalating complex issues appropriately.
- Supplying parts and making corresponding system adjustments.
- Receiving, logging, controlling, and auditing inventory to ensure equipment, tools, and parts are available.
- Pursuing continuous improvement of storeroom processes.
- Using a computerized maintenance management system to support maintenance activities.
- Assembling and distributing job kits as directed.
- Interacting with peers and management to promote teamwork.
- Understanding schematics, blueprints, and manuals.
- Operating mobile equipment such as forklifts, aerial lifts, etc.
- Maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
- Replenishing inventory stock.
- Adhering to safety policies and procedures.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Eligible to work in the US without visa sponsorship.
- 18 years or older.
- High school diploma/GED or two years of equivalent work experience.
- Ability to communicate in English.
- Physical ability to perform duties, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in varied conditions with PPE.
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, holidays, or different shifts.
- At least one year of inventory control experience.
- Good communication, organizational, and computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience operating a forklift or similar equipment.
- Experience with CMMS like SAP.
- Experience with maintenance job kitting.
