Job summary

Sexton Ford in Moline, IL is seeking a motivated Parts Counter Person to join our auto parts team. You will assist customers, process parts sales, and help manage stock both in storage and on shelves, ensuring accurate inventory and friendly service.

You will collaborate with the parts manager, handle special order requests, and communicate status clearly with customers and staff while maintaining safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of automobiles.
• Experience in auto parts sales is preferred.
• Must lift 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Strong reading, mathematics and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the parts sales process from start to finish
• Work with parts manager to locate any parts not in stock
• Complete special order part request for the customer
• Communicate with customer on parts status
• Communicate with staff and customers in a friendly and professional manner

Parts Counter Person Responsibilities:

• Oversee the parts sales process from start to finish


• Work with parts manager to locate any parts not in stock


• Complete special order part request for the customer

Parts Counter Person Requirements:

• Previous experience at a Ford dealership is a plus


• Ability to identify the problem quickly


• Knowledge of automobiles


• Effective analytical and communication skills


• Strong reading, computer, and mathematics skills


• Ability to learn new technology and repair and service procedures and specifications


• Minimum of 1 year in service department


• Ability to lift 50 pounds and work on your feet for extended periods of time


• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment


• Basic computer skills


• Positive, friendly attitude


• High school diploma or equivalent


• Experience with auto parts sales (preferred)


• Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment
