Job summary

Thornhill Ford in Chapmanville, West Virginia, is seeking a friendly and knowledgeable Parts Counter Person to drive retail sales of auto parts while delivering exceptional customer service.

You will oversee the sales process, help locate parts not in stock, process special orders, and keep customers informed of parts status, all while maintaining a professional demeanor and adhering to safety and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred
• Experience with auto parts sales is preferred
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to learn new technology and repair/service procedures

Responsibilities

• Complete special order part requests for customers
• Communicate with customers on parts status
• Communicate with staff and customers in a friendly and professional manner

The Parts Counter Person is responsible for customer service and retail sales at an auto parts store. In this position, your responsibilities include selling parts and taking inventory of stock in storage and, if necessary, on shelves

Parts Counter Person Responsibilities:

• Oversee the parts sales process from start to finish
• Work with parts manager to locate any parts not in stock
• Complete special order part request for the customer
• Communicate with customer on parts status

Parts Counter Person Requirements:

• Previous experience at a Ford dealership is a plus
• Ability to identify the problem quickly
• Knowledge of automobiles
• Effective analytical and communication skills
• Strong reading, computer, and mathematics skills
• Ability to learn new technology and repair and service procedures and specifications
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and work on your feet for extended periods of time
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Basic computer skills
• Positive, friendly attitude
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience with auto parts sales (preferred)
