Job summary

Northtown Hyundai is expanding and seeks a parts specialist to sell auto parts over the counter, by phone or to the workshop, ensuring customers get the right components and service. You will pull stock, verify availability, quote prices, and support service and wholesale colleagues while maintaining a clean, organized counter.

The role is full-time with a rotating 3-day schedule; prior auto parts experience is a plus, and a valid in-state license is required.

Qualifications

• Previous automotive parts experience in a dealership or retail setting is a plus but not required.
• Professional personal appearance.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to sell a minimum quota according to dealership standards.
• Ability to work well with the public, sometimes with several customers at a time.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions (verbal and written).
• Ability to operate a smartphone, tablet and/or PC.
• Valid in-state driver’s license.

Occupational Summary

• Responsible for the sale of parts to all available customers over the counter, through the shop or on the phone.

Pay Structure

This position is an hourly plus commission based position that, yearly, ranges between $40,000 - $50,000 / year

Hours

Full-time, 3 day rotating schedule : 7:30AM - 9:00PM (Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday for one month and then Thursday/Friday/Saturday for the next month)

Essential Job Functions

• Assist walk-in customers in selecting required parts, suggest companion requirements, offer specials and ensure that the customer is exposed to the full product line.
• Pull purchased parts from stock.
• If the part is not in stock, determine availability and projected delivery date.
• Answer phone calls, providing price quotes and other information.
• Assist outside sales representatives (ie: wholesalers) with their orders.
• Assist service technicians in selecting parts needed for repair process.
• Be friendly, professional and efficient when working with all customers, both on the phone and in person.
• Keep front and rear counter areas clean and uncluttered.
• Replenish assigned inventory daily.
• Advise parts manager when areas of the department are not in satisfactory condition.
• Keep current on new products and product updates.
• Participate in all training programs that are made available.
• SOP management- ensure that special orders are placed, status checked daily and customers are promptly contacted.
• Communicate effectively with co-workers, management and customers

Physical Requirements

• Job requires the following physical activities: This is a physically demanding position. Will move throughout the parts shelves all day, reaching and climbing to obtain parts from inventory. Will lift up to 70lbs. Will stand six to eight hours during a shift at the customer counter. When delivering parts to the service department, will be exposed to noise, dust, exhaust fumes, paint and other hazardous and nonhazardous materials. Evening, holiday and weekend work hours will be required.
