Job summary

Stowers Machinery Corporation in Florida seeks a Field Service Technician to support Coastal Construction Equipment, LLC, the region's CAT Compact Equipment Dealer. The role emphasizes on-site diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance for heavy equipment at customer sites.

You will read manuals and diagrams, use diagnostic tools, and document work in our systems while communicating repair status to customers. Travel within the territory is frequent.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in heavy equipment repair or field service.
• Strong knowledge of Caterpillar or similar machinery.
• Ability to work independently in remote locations.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Technical certification or associate degree in Diesel Technology or related field preferred.
• CDL license or ability to obtain one (preferred).

Responsibilities

Requirements

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills on heavy machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and software.
• Excellent problem-solving and time-management abilities.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with customers and internal teams.

Preferred Qualification(s):

• Caterpillar equipment experience.
• Familiarity with hydraulic, electrical, and powertrain systems.
• CDL license or ability to obtain one.

Education Requirements:

• Mental focus for troubleshooting complex systems under time constraints.

Work Environment:

• Primarily field-based with exposure to varying weather conditions.
• Frequent travel to customer sites within assigned territory.
• Standard business hours with occasional overtime and on-call duties.
