Job summary

Truck Centers, Inc. is seeking a customer-focused Parts Counter Sales Representative to join our team. You will help customers find the right truck and equipment parts, over the counter or by phone, in a fast-paced environment and with strong product knowledge.

This role requires excellent interpersonal skills, reliability, and a willingness to grow with a network of dealerships across Illinois, Indiana, and Missouri. The schedule is Monday–Friday 8am–4:30pm with a rotation every fourth Saturday.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years parts sales experience preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Thorough knowledge of basic computer operations and inventory control systems.
• Ability to lift or move up to 80 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Sell Parts: assist customers over the counter or by phone in a lively, fast-paced setting.
• Utilize Resources: look up parts and technical information, check inventory, locate stock within our network.
• Handle Transactions: complete sales accurately, verify signatures, credit cards, and identity.
• Coordinate Orders: schedule shipment, delivery, or pick-up for fast processing.
• Process Returns: issue credits with original invoices or reference numbers.
• Customer Follow-Up: check order status, provide estimates, and perform routine sales calls.

Job Description

(TCI) is on the lookout for a customer-focused Parts Counter Sales Representative to join our team. In this role, you'll need to bring your strong interpersonal skills to help our customers find the commercial vehicle and equipment parts they need, whether in person or over the phone.

Shift Available:

• This position will work Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm with a rotation every fourth Saturday.

What You'll Do:

• Sell Parts: Assist customers over the counter or by phone in a lively, fast-paced setting.
• Utilize Resources: Quickly and efficiently look up parts and technical information, check inventory, and locate stock within our TCI network.
• Handle Transactions: Ensure all sales transactions are completed accurately and promptly, adhering to TCI policies, including verifying signatures, credit cards, and customer identity.
• Coordinate Orders: Schedule orders for shipment, delivery, or customer pick-up, ensuring they are processed quickly.
• Process Returns: Issue credits for returned parts, verifying purchase details with original invoices or reference numbers.
• Customer Follow-Up: Regularly check in with customers on order status, provide estimates, and make routine sales calls to maintain strong customer relationships.
• Accurate Data Entry: Enter part numbers accurately to determine costs on repair orders.

Qualifications

What We're Looking For:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 2+ years of parts sales experience is highly preferable
• Thorough knowledge of basic computer operations and inventory control systems
• Demonstrated customer service and communication skills
• Strong organization skills that reflect the ability to perform and prioritize multiple projects seamlessly with excellent attention to detail and a solution-focused outlook
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
• Ability to lift or move up to 80 lbs. unassisted
