Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Parts Counter Sales Representative to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting external customers with the purchase of parts and supplies, as well as providing support to internal customers from the sales and service departments.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist external customers at the parts counter or on the telephone, as well as internal customers from the sales and service departments
  • Oversee the parts sales process from customer inquiry to finding the part, to invoicing the customer
  • Work with parts manager and vendors to locate any parts not in stock
  • Process vendor parts orders from finding the parts, to creating purchase orders and receiving parts into the inventory system
  • Complete special order part request for any parts that need to be ordered for the customer
  • Communicate parts order and delivery status to customer
  • Communicate with staff and customers in friendly and professional manner
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures
  • Maintain, organize, and stock parts in the showroom and warehouse
  • Refer to parts manuals (both hard copy and electronic format) to identify the correct parts for the make, model and year of trailer being serviced
  • Serve as backup to other parts counterperson or stocking shelves as necessary
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Preferred education and experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required
