Job summary

PacWest Machinery LLC in Portland, OR is seeking a Parts Counter Sales Lead to oversee daily counter sales and lead a team, selling heavy equipment parts and accessories while delivering exceptional customer service.

The Lead will supervise Parts Counter Sales Representatives, ensure accurate inventory and orders, and act as subject matter expert for parts systems and products, driving revenue growth and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, professional counter service to customers in person, by phone, and electronically
• Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate heavy equipment parts and solutions
• Prepare accurate quotes, process orders, and coordinate special or emergency orders
• Maximize sales opportunities through upselling and cross-selling
• Resolve customer concerns and ensure high levels of satisfaction
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships
• Provide day-to-day direction and support to Parts Counter Sales Representatives
• Assist in training, onboarding, and mentoring new team members
• Monitor workflow and ensure efficient counter coverage
• Promote a positive, team-oriented work environment
• Act as primary point of contact in the absence of the Parts Manager
• Daily admin duties to ensure efficient department operations.
• Ensure accuracy in parts lookup, ordering, pricing, and invoicing
• Ensure part invoices are coded and submitted daily
• Assist with cycle counts and inventory reconciliation
• Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure timely order fulfillment
• Maintain organized and professional counter and showroom areas
• Follow all company safety procedures

About the Role

Position Summary

The Parts Counter Sales Lead is responsible for overseeing daily counter sales operations while actively selling heavy equipment parts and accessories to customers. Qualifications

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 5+ years of parts counter sales experience in construction equipment (preferred), transportation, agriculture or automotive industries.
• Prior lead or supervisory experience preferred
• Knowledge of crushing and screening parts and equipment preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of heavy equipment parts and components
• Proficiency with electronic parts catalogs and dealership management systems
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Leadership and coaching ability

Compensation: $35.00 - $39.00 per hour
