Job summary

Banister Mitsubishi of Hampton is seeking a detail-oriented Parts Counterperson to join our growing team. You’ll be the go-to resource for customers, technicians, and service advisors, helping them find the right parts and accessories and processing orders at the counter or over the phone.

You\'ll manage inventory, coordinate with service, and provide friendly, knowledgeable service while upholding our customer-first approach. Prior parts counter or automotive parts experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous parts counter or automotive parts experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret parts catalogs/diagrams.
• Basic computer skills with DMS/inventory software experience a plus.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist retail customers, wholesale accounts, and internal technicians in identifying and purchasing correct parts.
• Look up parts using dealership/manufacturer parts catalogs and inventory systems.
• Process parts orders, returns, and special orders accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain accurate inventory counts; assist with cycle counts and stock organization.
• Answer phone and in-person inquiries regarding parts availability, pricing, and order status.
• Coordinate with the service department and technicians to ensure timely parts availability for repairs.
• Receive, stock, and organize incoming parts shipments.
• Provide friendly, knowledgeable customer service and build strong customer relationships.
• Follow proper documentation and billing procedures.
