Parts Counter Person Responsibilities
  • Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Parts Department Advisors are to greet and acknowledge all customers and technicians.
    • Assist customers' needs by looking up parts, selling items, taking orders, answering phone calls, stocking shelves and receiving merchandise.
    • Keep the Parts Department clean and orderly.
    • Accurately charge out parts on repair orders and counter slips.
    • Accurately post in and receive parts orders
    • Keep up to date with brand training requirements
    • Follow up on parts orders and shortages.
    • Report discrepancies to Part Manager.
    • Maintain a friendly environment with technicians, service advisors, and customers.
    • Inform your supervisor of potential problems or potential new business opportunities directly or indirectly related to your department
    • Be early, flexible and available for scheduling.
    • Focus on Quality and Service.
    • Demonstrate an interest in growing the parts business.
    • Use dealership equipment respectfully and safely.
    • Maintain a clean and neat appearance.
    • Perform duties as requested by management.
    • Strives for harmony and teamwork within the department and with all other departments.
    • Maintains awareness of safety and follows workplace safety requirements.

    Qualifications:

    • Brand parts experience preferred, but not required.
    • Ability to speak and listen effectively one on one.
    • Ability to interpret customer/technician needs.
    • Basic computer skills.
    • Good organizational skills.
    • Valid driver’s license.
    • High School Diploma or equivalent and prior auto parts sales experience (preferred)
