Job summary

Rudd Equipment Company is seeking a knowledgeable Parts Counter associate to help customers solve parts problems in person or by phone. You will identify correct part numbers, check availability, and sell parts as needed, completing order forms and entering data into the system with accuracy and care.

The role requires in-office presence; remote work is not available. Candidates should have basic computer skills, familiarity with parts terminology, and a customer-service mindset to support our

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with vehicles or heavy equipment preferred.
• Familiar with parts terminology.
• Automotive or heavy equipment background a plus.
• Knowledge of cataloging and/or inventory systems desirable.
• Warehouse and shop parts training or equivalent experience.
• Ability to read, write and follow written instructions.
• Customer service oriented.
• Basic computer and data entry skills required.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and determine needs.

• Expedite backorders with branches and manufacturers.
• Always advise customers of order status.
• Assist warehouse and shop parts as required.

About this position

Summary

We are seeking a knowledgeable Parts Counter associate to assist customers in solving parts problems in person or by telephone, identify proper parts numbers, check availability, recommend and sell parts as a service and as requested by customer. This position will complete parts order forms, enter related information into the Data Processing system with the understanding that service and satisfaction are top priority. This position requires in office presence and the essential functions cannot be performed remotely.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Greet customers and determine needs.
• Prioritize work day to meet customer needs.
• Expedite backorders with branches and manufacturers.
• Always advise customers of order status.
• Assist warehouse and shop parts as required.
• Possess excellent organizational skills.
• Participate in factory training.
• Assist clerk with reconciling purchase order number to invoices.
• Display working knowledge of authorized password options.
• Contribute at monthly parts meetings.
• Ability to establish credibility quickly. Must be decisive and able to recognize and support the organization's goals and priorities.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

• H.S. Diploma or equivalent required
• Previous experience working with vehicles or heavy equipment desired.
• Familiar with parts terminology.
• Previous automotive/heavy equipment background a plus.
• Automotive, parts and/or equipment knowledge a plus.
• Knowledge of cataloging and/or inventory management systems desired.
• Successfully completed warehouse and shop parts training or possesses the equivalent experience.

Communication Skills

• Ability to read, write, and follow written instructions.
• Customer Service oriented.

Computer Skills

Basic computer and data entry skills required.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this position the employee may be required to lift/carry materials weighing up to 20 pounds frequently and 21-50 pounds occasionally. This position requires the abilityto demonstrate full range of motion for bending, pulling, reaching, stooping, and climbing frequently. In addition, this position requires the use and operation of a forklift as needed to pick and pack parts. This position will utilize the computer screen, keyboard, and telephone.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

• This is position is classified as full-time, non-exempt.
• Normal Days of work are Monday through Friday.
• Overtime may be required on occasion as needed.
