Job summary

Rudd Equipment Company, Inc. is seeking a knowledgeable Parts Counter associate to assist customers with parts selection and problem solving in person or by phone. You will identify proper part numbers, check availability, and process orders with a focus on service and satisfaction.

This is an in-office, on-site role in Cincinnati, OH. Candidate should have a HS diploma and experience with vehicles or heavy equipment is a plus.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience with vehicles or heavy equipment is a plus.
• Familiarity with parts terminology is preferred.
• Automotive/heavy equipment background is advantageous.
• Knowledge of cataloging and inventory systems is desirable.
• Completion of warehouse/shop parts training or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and determine needs.
• Prioritize work to meet customer demands.
• Expedite backorders with branches and manufacturers.

Summary

We are seeking a knowledgeable Parts Counter associate to assist customers in solving parts problems in person or by telephone, identify proper parts numbers, check availability, recommend and sell parts as a service and as requested by customer. This position will complete parts order forms, enter related information into the Data Processing system with the understanding that service and satisfaction are top priority. This position requires in office presence and the essential functions cannot be performed remotely.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Greet customers and determine needs.
• Prioritize work day to meet customer needs.
• Expedite backorders with branches and manufacturers.
• Always advise customers of order status.
• Assist warehouse and shop parts as required.
• Possess excellent organizational skills.
• Participate in factory training.
• Assist clerk with reconciling purchase order number to invoices.
• Display working knowledge of authorized password options.
• Contribute at monthly parts meetings.
• Ability to establish credibility quickly. Must be decisive and able to recognize and support the organization’s goals and priorities.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

• H.S. Diploma or equivalent required
• Previous experience working with vehicles or heavy equipment desired.
• Familiar with parts terminology.
• Previous automotive/heavy equipment background a plus.
• Automotive, parts and/or equipment knowledge a plus.
• Knowledge of cataloging and/or inventory management systems desired.
• Successfully completed warehouse and shop parts training or possesses the equivalent experience.

Communication Skills

• Ability to read, write, and follow written instructions.
• Customer Service oriented.

Computer Skills

Basic computer and data entry skills required.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this position the employee may be required to lift/carry materials weighing up to 20 pounds frequently and 21-50 pounds occasionally. This position requires the abilityto demonstrate full range of motion for bending, pulling, reaching, stooping, and climbing frequently.In addition, this position requires the use and operation of a forklift as needed to pick and pack parts. This position will utilize the computer screen, keyboard, and telephone.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

• This is position is classified as full-time, non-exempt.
• Normal Days of work are Monday through Friday.
• Overtime may be required on occasion as needed.
