Job summary

Capstone Copper Pinto Valley is seeking a Tails & Water Parts Coordinator-Scheduler to verify, kit, and stage parts for maintenance work orders, ensuring readiness and accuracy. The role supports planning, field staging, and yard operations across outages and projects in central Arizona.

Successful candidates will have maintenance planning experience, strong communication, and proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office. A safety-focused mindset and flexibility for shift work are valued in this role.

Qualifications

• Experienced maintenance planner/scheduler, craftsperson, maintenance supervisor, engineer, or equivalent background.
• Knowledge of maintenance, planning and scheduling.
• Experience with predictive and preventive maintenance processes.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Good time management and organizational abilities.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office tools and SAP.

Responsibilities

• Verify, kit, and stage parts for maintenance jobs to ensure accuracy and readiness.
• Coordinate and update planners and crews on parts status and job readiness.
• Handle repair returns, retrieve unplanned parts, and maintain proper documentation.
• Assist with staging in the field and maintain organized laydown areas.
• Support maintenance planning during absences and contribute to scheduling.
• Use SAP for work order tracking and assist with invoices and parts returns.

• Take on additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

Pinto Valley is an open-pit copper mine located at the west end of the historic Globe-Miami mining district of central Arizona, approximately 80 miles east of Phoenix. Pinto Valley has been in operation since 1972 and has produced more than four billion pounds of copper. Acquired by Capstone from BHP in 2013, the mine is fully permitted through 2039 and a study is underway to potentially extend the mine life through 2050.

Position Responsibilities As a Tails & Water Parts Coordinator-Scheduler, you will be responsible for verifying, kitting, and staging parts for maintenance jobs, projects, and outages, ensuring accuracy and readiness for execution. This role also supports parts returns, repair logistics, yard organization, and may serve as a backup maintenance planner when needed.

• Coordination & Communication: Update planners and crews on parts status and job readiness.
• Logistics Support: Handle repair returns, retrieve unplanned parts, and maintain proper documentation.
• Field & Yard Support: Assist with staging in the field and maintain clean, organized laydown areas.
• Planning Backup: Support maintenance planning during absences and contribute to long-term scheduling.
• System & Admin Support: Use SAP for work order tracking and assist with invoices and parts returns.
• Culture & Values: Model Capstone’s Values and foster a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence.
• Take on additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and initiative.

Position Requirements Required

• Experienced maintenance planner/scheduler, craftsperson, maintenance supervisor, engineer, or have equivalent background and experience.
• Minimum of one year of maintenance execution or planning.
• Knowledge of maintenance, planning and scheduling.
• Knowledge of theories and practices of maintenance / planning and scheduling.
• Experience and knowledge of predictive and preventive maintenance processes and practices.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.
• Strong time management skills required.
• Computer skills, spreadsheets (Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Projects, and Microsoft Power Point).
• Valid Arizona Driver's License
• Able to speak, comprehend, read, and write English

Preferred

• Trained in forklift operation.
• SAP experience.
• Mining experience.
