Job summary

FedEx Freight seeks an inventory technician to maintain organized stock of truck, trailer, dolly, and forklift parts used by technicians for repairs and preventive maintenance. You will manage stock, return parts for credit, and work with national account vendors to replenish supplies.

Qualifications

  • Ability to lift about 110 pounds for brake drum replacement several times a month.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare inventory shipping and receiving records, manually and electronically.
  • Retrieve parts when needed and stock shelves.
  • Communicate with vendors to procure parts by phone and fax.
  • Monitor min/max stocking levels and lead times.
  • Organize parts using bin locations and track open purchase orders.

Position Overview

Starting Rate of Pay: $ 30.19 per hour

Position Overview

Maintain adequate and organized inventory of truck, trailer, dolly and forklift parts used by technicians for equipment repairs and preventive maintenance services. Maintain current inventory by returning parts for credit and utilize national account FedEx Freight approved vendors for stock parts.

Essential Functions
  • Prepare inventory shipping and receiving records both manually and electronically
  • Retrieve parts when needed
  • Communicate with vendors to procure parts by phone and fax
  • Stock parts to and from shelving units
  • Monitor location for proper min/max stocking levels and lead time
  • Utilize computer suggested reorders daily
  • Receive correct invoices in a timely manner
  • Pack and unpack parts shipped in and out
  • Utilize computer system to organize parts (bin locations), primary vendor, monitor open purchase orders, back orders and parts with no movement for twelve months
  • Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
  • Perform other duties as required

Qualifications
  • Must possess high school diploma, general education diploma (GED) or equivalent education

  • Commercial vehicle maintenance/parts experience preferred
MCMS Or Other Electronic Parts Management System Experience Preferred

Ability to follow instructions and complete required training

Working Conditions

Exposure to heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job

Exposure to considerable amounts of dust, diesel fumes and noise

Exposure to climate conditions of the geographic area

Exposure to chemicals, oils, greases or other irritants

Pay

Hourly: $30.19 - $33.96

Compensation listed reflects the pay range or pay rate reasonably expected for this position. Actual pay is determined by job-related factors permitted by law and relevant to the position, such as experience, tenure, market level, pay at the location, performance, schedule, and work assignment.
