Job summary

American Engineering is a fast-growing construction company seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Parts Clerk to join our team. This position plays a critical role in maintaining inventory accuracy, managing parts and supplies, and ensuring our field and shop teams have the materials they need to keep projects moving efficiently.

You will receive, stock, and issue parts, track inventory, coordinate with vendors, and support shop, warehouse, and field operations.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Parts Clerk or similar role is preferred.
• Knowledge of construction equipment parts is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail required.
• Basic computer skills and ability to use inventory software.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and stock parts, tools, and equipment deliveries.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and monitor stock levels.
• Issue parts and supplies to mechanics, technicians, and field crews.
• Track inventory using inventory management systems.
• Conduct regular inventory counts and assist with cycle counts.
• Coordinate with vendors regarding parts availability and deliveries.
• Assist with loading, unloading, and transporting parts as needed.

This position plays a critical role in maintaining inventory accuracy, managing parts and supplies, and ensuring our field and shop teams have the materials they need to keep projects moving efficiently.

Job Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and stock parts, tools, and equipment deliveries
• Maintain accurate inventory records and monitor stock levels
• Issue parts and supplies to mechanics, technicians, and field crews
• Track incoming and outgoing inventory using inventory management systems
• Conduct regular inventory counts and assist with cycle counts
• Research, order, and replenish parts as needed
• Organize and maintain a clean, safe, and efficient parts room and storage areas
• Verify purchase orders, packing slips, and invoices for accuracy
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers regarding parts availability and deliveries
• Assist with loading, unloading, and transporting parts and materials when necessary
• Support shop, warehouse, and field operations as needed

Schedule

• Monday-Friday
• Occasional overtime and weekend work based on operational needs

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Parts Clerk, Inventory Clerk, Warehouse Associate, or similar role preferred
• Knowledge of construction equipment, heavy equipment, vehicle, or machinery parts is a plus
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Basic computer skills and experience with inventory management systems
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical inventory tasks
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Dependable, self-motivated, and team-oriented
• Forklift experience is a plus (or willingness to learn)
• Valid driver's license preferred
