Job summary

Astec is seeking a General Laborer to support fabrication operations across departments. The role involves cleaning production areas, assisting on-site staff, moving materials, and following supervisor instructions to perform manual tasks.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, basic computer skills, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. A valid driver's license and forklift experience are preferred; PPE is required on site.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Computer skills are minimal but must be able to follow general instructions to clock in/out of payroll system.
• Self-motivated with drive and determination to succeed and move up as jobs become available.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to operate a forklift.
• Position requires the individual to wear and use PPE to perform duties.
• Individual must be able to perform lifting, pushing and/or pulling up to 50 pounds.
• Position will require frequent bending, stooping, and crawling.
• Must follow safe handling guidelines when using chemical liquids and powders.

Responsibilities

• Clean and prepare production areas.
• Assist other workers on-site with various jobs.
• Handle and transport needed materials.
• Follow instructions from supervisors to perform manual labor tasks.
• Comply with all safety protocols to ensure the safety of employees.
• Assist machine operators with loading/unloading material.
• Cleans, sorts and stages parts within Material Prep area.
• Assist production workers by supplying or sorting materials, as needed.
• Cleans designated areas by sweeping and wiping down surfaces.
• Maintains open communication with supervisor.
