Job summary

Colton RV & Marine is seeking a Parts Associate to identify and source RV parts, process orders, and maintain organized inventory for our service team. You will ensure technicians have the right parts to complete repairs and help customers with pricing and product information.

You’ll grow knowledge of RV parts and accessories, with opportunities to cross-train as a Camping Advisor, expanding customer-facing responsibilities and product lines.

Qualifications

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, both in person and over the telephone and email.
  • Strong organizational, follow-up, and time-management skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively communicating and collaborating with technicians, service advisors, customers, vendors, and other employees.
  • Computer proficiency and the ability to learn dealership parts and inventory software.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and source parts for technicians, service advisors, and customers using manuals, catalogs, computer systems, and vendor resources.
  • Order and purchase parts from vendors and distributors, including creating purchase orders and special orders.
  • Manage orders, track shipments, and communicate status and availability to technicians, advisors, and customers.
  • Receive and inspect incoming parts, verify quantities against invoices, and properly stock and organize inventory.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy, including parts issued, received, outside purchases, warranty returns, and open purchase orders.
  • Research alternatives when parts are obsolete, unavailable, upgraded, or substituted.
  • Support the service department by making sure technicians have the correct parts when needed and following up on outstanding orders.
  • Work with vendors, distributors, technicians, service centers, and dealership staff to resolve parts and ordering issues.

We’re looking for an organized, motivated Parts Associate who enjoys solving problems, keeping things moving, and learning something new. In this fast-paced role, you’ll support our service team by identifying and sourcing parts, processing orders, and maintaining organized inventory. Your attention to detail and follow-through will help ensure our technicians have the right parts to get our customers back to their adventures.

Essential Functions:
  • Identify and source parts for technicians, service advisors, and customers using manuals, catalogs, computer systems, and vendor resources.
  • Order and purchase parts from vendors and distributors, including creating purchase orders and special orders.
  • Manage orders, track shipments, and communicate status and availability to technicians, advisors, and customers.
  • Receive and inspect incoming parts, verify quantities against invoices, and properly stock and organize inventory.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy, including parts issued, received, outside purchases, warranty returns, and open purchase orders.
  • Research alternatives when parts are obsolete, unavailable, upgraded, or substituted.
  • Support the service department by making sure technicians have the correct parts when needed and following up on outstanding orders.
  • Work with vendors, distributors, technicians, service centers, and dealership staff to resolve parts and ordering issues.
  • Maintain a clean, organized stockroom/warehouse and professional parts operation.
  • Build strong knowledge of RV parts, accessories, and applications to accurately identify what is needed.
  • Provide some retail/customer assistance, including pricing, recommendations, and explaining RV components and systems.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of dealership, auto parts store, retail parts counter, warehouse, or related experience preferred.
  • General knowledge of RV or RV industry experience is highly desirable but not required.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, both in person and over the telephone and email.
  • Strong organizational, follow-up, and time-management skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively communicating and collaborating with technicians, service advisors, customers, vendors, and other employees.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines.
  • Computer proficiency and the ability to learn dealership parts and inventory software.
  • Ability to identify parts and understand their general function and application.
  • Strong inventory organization and record-keeping skills.
  • Professional, dependable, and team-oriented attitude.
