Job summary

Columbus Technologies and Services, Inc. in Greenbelt, MD seeks a Parts Analysis Engineer to provide analytical services for the Parts Analysis Laboratory. You will perform incoming inspection and non-destructive testing, and generate technical test reports, contributing to reliability assessments.

The role requires a BS in a technical field and at least five years in a quality/reliability lab, with SEM and infrared microscopy experience. US citizenship is required, and W2 with full benefits.

Qualifications

• Must have BS in listed fields and 5+ years of post-graduate experience.
• Experience in a quality/reliability laboratory testing environment with SEM and infrared microscopy.
• Knowledge of NASA, ESA, Aerospace, DoD, and IPC standards and performance specifications.
• Experience evaluating metals, composites, metal alloys, and other electronics materials for analyses.
• Understanding of construction/manufacturing processes/techniques for EEEE parts.
• Well organized and able to multi-task within budgeted labor hours.
• Detail oriented with accurate recording in digital work order system and reports.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $80-120K + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

JOB DESCRIPTION

In this role, you will provide analytical services for the Parts Analysis Laboratory. This position includes a broad range of laboratory activity, including:

• Incoming inspection of Electrical, Electronic, Electro-mechanical, Electro-optical (EEEE) components.
• Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) including X-Ray Fluorescence, Radiographic, Scanning Electron Microscopy, Infrared microscopy.
• Root cause analysis, stress testing, environmental testing, electrical verification.
• Generation of technical test reports.

REQUIRED SKILLS

• BS in Materials, Reliability, EE, Mechanical, Physics.
• Five (5) years, minimum, demonstrated post-graduation experience.
• Demonstrated performance in a quality/reliability laboratory testing environment, with experience in optical, Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), and Infrared microscopy.
• Knowledge of NASA, ESA, Aerospace, DoD, and IPC standards and performance specifications and their requirements.
• Experienced in techniques for the evaluation and identification of metals, composites, metal alloys, and other electronics materials as part of the performance of construction analyses.
• Understanding of the construction/manufacturing processes/techniques for EEEE parts.
• Well organized, with the ability to multi-task effectively and keep assigned work on schedule and within budgeted labor hours.
• Detail oriented, with accurate recording of work performed in the digital work order system and technical reports.
• Experienced user of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.

DESIRED SKILLS

• Previous NASA, military, aerospace, automotive high reliability laboratory experience.
• NASA or other ESD certification.
