DARCARS Automotive Group is now hiring for a Parts Advisor!

As the Parts Advisor, you are tasked with selling parts to customers over the counter, through the shop, on the phone, and/or online. This is a unique opportunity for someone with little experience, or those that are experienced and seeking advancement. We have new direction and support that's looking to the future. In this role, you'll:

  1. Assist walk-in customers in selecting required parts, suggest companion requirements, offer specials, and ensure that the customer is exposed to the full product line
  2. Pull purchased parts from stock
  3. If the part is not in stock, determine availability and submit an emergency order if requested by the customer or tech
  4. Answer phone calls, providing price quotes and other information
  5. Assist outside sales reps with their orders
  6. Set up orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pick-up
  7. Verify WILL CALL and BACKORDER files weekly and return to vendors or stock those items not required
  8. Multitask while using various online programs and communicating large orders with multiple body shop clients
  9. Assist Service Technicians in selecting parts needed for repairs in process
  10. Notify service desk and the customer that ordered parts have been received
  11. Ensure that before parts can be charged out, the technician presents a repair order
  12. Display seasonal parts and accessories in an attractive manner
  13. Keep all bins, aisles, and storage areas clean, near, and clearly labeled
  14. Be friendly, professional, and efficient when working with customers and co-workers
  15. Provide the same high level of service to the other dealership departments, as is given to other customers
  16. Issue credit slips for parts returned, ensuring that the original invoice or its number is available so that purchase and pricing can be verified. Exceptions must be approved by the Parts Manager or Office Manager
  17. Keep front and rear counters clean and uncluttered
  18. Advise Parts Manager when areas of the department are not in satisfactory condition
  19. Keep current on new products and product updates
  20. Participate in available training programs

Qualifications & Requirements:

  1. High School degree or equivalent
  2. Strong communication skills to explain parts information to customers and associates
  3. Knowledgeable about automotive OEM parts
  4. Experience with Reynolds & Reynolds preferred
  5. Experience working in the body shop a plus!
  6. Ability to lift 50 - 70 lbs
  7. Availability to work on Saturdays
  8. Must be at least eighteen years of age
  9. Must have a valid driver’s license
  10. Must be able to pass pre-employment screening (background)
