Job Description:

JOB PURPOSE

The Director - Partnerships & Resource Development provides strategic leadership for resource mobilization, donor engagement, grant acquisition, and partnership development for World Vision in the Solomon Islands. The position leads efforts to diversify and grow funding from institutional donors, multilateral agencies, bilateral development partners, UN agencies, foundations, private sector partners, churches, diaspora networks, and domestic fundraising sources.

The Director develops and implements a sustainable resource development strategy aligned with national priorities, Pacific regional development agendas, and World Vision's Our Promise 2030 strategy. The role strengthens relationships with key government ministries, development partners, regional organizations, private sector actors, and community stakeholders while ensuring high-quality grant acquisition, compliance, accountability, and stewardship of resources. The Director champions World Vision's visibility and influence across the Pacific context, positioning the organization as a trusted partner in child well-being, resilience, climate adaptation, education, health, gender equality, and humanitarian response.

The Director develops and implements a sustainable resource development strategy aligned with Solomon Islands national priorities, World Vision's Our Promise 2030 Strategy, and emerging donor commitments to localization, partnership equity, and community resilience. The role strengthens strategic relationships across government, civil society, churches, academia, private sector, and development partners while positioning World Vision Solomon Islands as a trusted convener and partner for locally led development initiatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Leadership and Organizational Development
  • Lead the strategic leadership agenda for World Vision Solomon Islands, providing expert advice and recommendations on organisational strategy, structure, workforce planning, partnerships, localisation, and cross-functional collaboration to achieve National Office objectives.
  • Oversee the development, alignment, and execution of integrated resource development, partnership, localisation, and organisational growth plans, ensuring alignment with national priorities, World Vision strategy, and donor trends.
  • Foster strong collaboration among Partnerships & Resource Development, Operations, Evidence & Learning, Finance, People & Culture, Communications, and Technical teams to strengthen organisational effectiveness, innovation, and impact.
  • Lead the National Office Localisation Strategy and ensure resource mobilisation, programme design, and partnership approaches support locally led development, community ownership, and sustainable impact.
  • Promote equitable and transformative partnerships that strengthen the leadership, visibility, sustainability, and influence of local NGOs, faith-based organisations, community-based organisations, government institutions, and community structures.
  • Advise the Senior Leadership Team on opportunities to decentralise decision‑making, programme ownership, resource access, and capacity strengthening closer to communities and local partners.
  • Ensure grant acquisition and programme development approaches incorporate meaningful local partner participation throughout design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, learning, and accountability processes.
  • Strengthen World Vision Solomon Islands' role as a trusted convener and catalyst for collective impact by fostering multi‑stakeholder partnerships involving government ministries, churches, civil society organisations, women and youth networks, traditional leaders, academia, development partners, and the private sector.
  • Identify and mitigate strategic risks related to funding sustainability, compliance, organisational reputation, localisation commitments, partnership effectiveness, and operational performance.
  • Guide leadership and organisational capacity development through mentoring, coaching, succession planning, and strengthening decision‑making frameworks across the National Office.
