As the Partner Relations Advisor, you will cultivate donor relationships, increase major gifts, and establish long-term partnerships that support the ministry objectives of the North American Mission Board and Send Relief. Your work will help connect donors with meaningful ministry opportunities and strengthen relationships through thoughtful cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.

About the Role

The Partner Relations Advisor supports the Development team by managing relationships with 80-150 current and prospective donors. This position develops a pipeline for major gifts, identifies new giving prospects, and cultivates, solicits, and stewards donor relationships. The Partner Relations Advisor will use Raiser's Edge to maintain constituent records, develop giving opportunities, including planned giving, and support fundraising goals through phone, email, mail, and in-person visits. This position requires approximately 60-70 days of travel annually.

Ministerial Qualifications

Due to the ministerial nature and responsibilities of this role, the person serving as Partner Relations Advisor must demonstrate a clear and compelling sense of God's call to ministry leadership, consistent with Ephesians 4:1, 11-13; Acts 13:2; and Ephesians 3:8. The person filling this role must meet the biblical qualifications for ministry leadership as reflected in 1 Timothy 3:1-15 and Article VI of the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage Donor Relationships: Cultivate and develop relationships with 80-150 current and prospective individual donors to build a pipeline for major gifts in the state of Florida and Puerto Rico.
  • Cultivate and Solicit Gifts: Qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors through strategic development activities conducted by phone, email, mail, and in-person visits.
  • Develop Giving Opportunities: Engage donors in gift strategy discussions, including outright gifts and planned or other deferred giving options.
  • Prepare Development Materials: Write, assemble, and submit funding requests, solicitation letters, acknowledgments, and stewardship reports in a timely manner.
  • Develop Donor Strategies: Establish growth strategies and annual goals for new and current individual donors.
  • Identify New Prospects: Discover new giving prospects through internal and external sources.
  • Steward Donors: Acknowledge and steward gifts in a timely and personally appropriate manner, helping donors understand the significance of their gifts while feeling valued and connected to the ministry.
  • Build External Relationships: Network with Southern Baptist Convention foundation personnel and relevant corporate giving peers to introduce the North American Mission Board and Send Relief to prospective major donors.
  • Maintain Accurate Records: Maintain timely and accurate constituent activity records in Raiser's Edge.
  • Participate in Team Activities: Participate in internal Development team meetings and other organizational meetings as needed.
  • Maintain Confidentiality: Protect the confidentiality of donor information and interactions.
  • Complete other duties and tasks as assigned by Development leadership.
Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree required.
  • A Minimum of 5 years of successful nonprofit fundraising experience required, preferably with an SBC-affiliated organization.
  • Experience with planned giving.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.

Work Environment and Travel Requirements

This position is based in Florida and requires approximately 60-70 days of travel annually. The role involves donor visits, development activities, meetings, and other responsibilities associated with cultivating and stewarding donor relationships.
